Dr Rebekah M Doley began her career in Organisational Psychology where she gained experience in recruitment, selection, training, personnel development and project management. Subsequently, Rebekah trained in Clinical Psychology and later in Forensic Psychology specialising in criminal behaviour analysis and, in particular, in the psychology of deliberate firesetting. Rebekah consults to government and private organisations in Australia and internationally on the issue of serial arson and its management in communities.
In addition to lecturing in postgraduate psychology programs at Bond University, Rebekah conducts a successful private practice offering dispute resolution and mediation, medico-legal assessments and couples counselling. She has experience in providing a range of community based clinical and forensic psychology services, working with individuals and couples as well as providing training to aged care facilities for staff, carers and residents in general mental health and well-being issues. Rebekah has also been a military psychologist for nearly 20 years, providing a range of clinical and assessment services, policy development, research and project management, advising command and delivering debriefings for military and associated personnel. She coordinated the Australian Defence Force National Suicide Prevention Program for several years and developed associated peer-support training for Command and other personnel in Navy, Army and Air Force.
Dr Rebekah Doley is Co-Director of The Centre for Forensic and Interpersonal Risk Management (C-FIRM), established in 2015. She is frequently invited to provide keynote talks on the issue of deliberate firesetting at academic and industry professional forums, is regularly sought by international and domestic to provide expert opinion on matters pertaining to deliberate firesetting, and continues to publish widely in both peer-reviewed and other journals.
